One Nottingham & GNLP Re-launched in 2005, One Nottingham is the Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) with the responsibility for implementing the Government’s National Strategy for Neighbourhood Renewal within Nottingham City. The LSP brings together Nottingham’s public, private, community and voluntary sectors to support its overarching mission to: - “reduce inequality, so that no one is disadvantaged by who they are or where they live". Theme Partnerships (in education, health, crime, housing, liveability and worklessness) have devised Neighbourhood Renewal Floor Target Action Plans (FTAP) to close the gaps between levels of deprivation across the city. For further information on the Theme Partnerships click here The Greater Nottingham Skills Board is One Nottingham’s Theme Partnership for Worklessness. The GNLP team facilitated the partnership between One Nottingham and the Greater Nottingham Skills Board, to produce the Worklessness FTAP; the objectives of which are captured below: - By 2008 to:-
GNLP plays an ongoing role to ensure the objectives contained in the FTAP are integrated with other conurbation-wide agreements and strategies, such as Block D of the Local Area Agreement (LAA), Making the Connection and the Skills Board Strategic Plan. These alignments are reflected in the tendering and commissioning processes for Neighbourhood Renewal Funds. GNLP is currently working on behalf of One Nottingham to comission and performance manage Neighbourhood Renewal activity. One Nottingham is the lead organisation on Nottingham’s City Strategy for Employment which responds to the Government’s Welfare Reform Green Paper published earlier this year. GNLP’s role is to develop the partnerships in support of this initiative, as well as co-ordinate the production of it’s Delivery Plan, which is to be submitted to the Department for Work & Pensions in December 2006.
