Overview
In 2003/04 this study was commissioned in order to develop Learning Plans for each District within the Greater Nottingham area (Broxtowe, Gedling, Hucknall in Ashfield and Rushcliffe). The report was intended to complement the Learning Plans that had been produced within Nottingham City to date, and therefore investigates post-16, learning, skills and employability.
Aims:
- To support district LSPs in the development of their Community Plans by drawing up Local Learning Strategies leading to Local Learning Plans in each GNP District.
Objectives:
- Contribute to delivering the learning element of the LSPs community planning process and build local capacity.
- Identify generic priorities across the conurbation and issues specific to district environments (to inform planning, policy and funding decisions).
- Builds on the work carried out under SRB with the city local area partnerships – lessons learnt, tools developed, etc.
- Extend the scope of the GNLP learning facilitators wider than the city and support County Council resources currently limited to priority areas.
- Demonstrates that GNLP, LSC and GNP are well placed to facilitate the sharing and spreading of good practice across the conurbation.
