The Area 6 Partnership
The Local Learning Team, based at The Renewal Trust, are working in partnership with both of these communities to relieve some of the above issues and implement priorities identified in the 2004 Local Learning Action Plan. Our dedicated Learning Champions try to engage prospective learners whilst continuing to provide ongoing one-to-one support. An immediate focus is to encourage further up-take of ESOL provision and engage people in first-steps learning through our Short & Sweet courses, which offer progression routes to level II and improve literacy and numeracy levels. We are also working to increase the provision of training opportunities mapped to employment, and to raise overall employability levels. The Local Learning Partnership brings together local residents, community groups, council workers, local providers and local businesses. The Partnership meets monthly and is faciliated by the Area Learning Facilitator. Newsletters are distrributed following partnership meetings. Further Information: -
